The Affect Of Road Salt On Cars

Every year snow, and ice drops on the roads and towns try to keep up with the conditions by dropping mixtures of road salt and sand. While salt is a major help to keeping everyone safe, there can be some negative implications. When driving on the roads, it’s only natural for snow, and dirt filled with this salt to accumulate on different places of your car. After an extended period of time on your car, the salt can produce rust.

As a car owner, there are luckily some steps you can take to make sure your car stays clean and damage free.

  1. Before the winter snow and ice start falling, apply wax to your car. This is one of the best ways to prevent salt from corroding any amount of paint.
